Innovative Movement Therapy

Norman Allard, founder of Hierarchy of Movement, provides unique solutions to challenges in the musculoskeletal system, the gut, and the nervous system.

At HōM, we’ve redefined fitness and rehabilitation. It is about bringing more awareness to how your body parts and mind are connected, how they coordinate, and how they control. We'll teach you to address and prevent physical, psychological and psycho-emotional issues through self-regulation of your autonomic nervous system.

Through live classes, home programs, and one-on-one sessions, students of all ages and ability levels can reduce or eliminate pain, improve sports performance, enhance mobility, and achieve calm of body, mind, and spirit.

We Help People Around the World

• Fend off oncoming challenges due to gravity and aging

• Improve body function and reduce or eliminate pain, even with asymmetries

• Find increased comfort in stillness and motion

• and, in some cases, avoid surgery!

Learn to Love Your Body

Make friends with your body again.

As we struggle with injury or aging, it's common to feel that our bodies are against us.

That they've let us down.

That they're an obstacle to overcome.

Through Hierarchy of Movement, you can learn to love your body again.

To move in ways you might not have thought possible.

HōM uses intentional, safe developmental rehabilitation and fitness to help you move freely so you can enjoy your body throughout every stage of life.

Remember How to Breathe

Breathing With Intention Can Transform Your Life

In addition to teaching gentle, intentional movements, Norman teaches all HōM students how to practice Full Spectrum Breathing.

You might ask, "I already breathe, why do I have to learn to breathe?"

One way or another, our breath is being influenced: it is either being guided by our conscious awareness or manipulated unconsciously. The unconscious breath tends to be manipulated by our habits and conditionings. If we are in pain, depressed, sick, angry, reactive, etc., the unconscious breath (like a puppy dog wanting to please its master) supports and perpetuates this pattern.

Full Spectrum Breathing allows us to be consciously in the driver’s seat directing our breath with intelligence, providing multiple tools and greater control over our health and well-being.
